From Trash to Treasure

This is a story that starts with a text message. A text message from my husband. I just had to take a screen shot and share because I honestly couldn't believe it happened!

By the dumpster...covered in dirt...full of cell phone catalogs and binders...and had masking tape sun-baked to the surface. Naturally I said yes.

I hated the door a lot and luckily the curvy piece came off easily so I didn't have to worry about that. I had to sand and degrease and empty out the cabinet. There were perfectly good binders in there! I kept the ones in good condition and tossed everything else.

For this piece I used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in French Enamel. I LOVED this paint. I've used other milk paints in the past and this one is the best I've ever used. It's just fabulous! I also purchased a new magnetic closure and a pretty oversized glass knob. I think it is such a cute little cabinet.

I love the chippy finish and cottage appeal of this piece. Head on over to Peacock Door Designs facebook page and get all the details - this piece is for sale!

I found out that my husband loves me incredibly to even send me the pictures and pick up the piece in the first place and that sometimes, trash really is treasure.
